In 2009, the Healthcare Partnership launched a "Community In-Motion" walking challenge that started as a “Million Mile Challenge” but quickly grew to a “Two Million Mile Challenge” after Ralph Boe, CEO of Beaulieu of America, announced a million mile challenge of the company’s own from its “Be Your Best” team. Several area companies, organizations and many individuals joined the challenge, finishing just shy of two million miles.
In 2010, a “Three Million Mile Challenge” was announced and by July 2010, the goal of three million miles was surpassed. The success of the challenges has led to a “Eight Million Mile Challenge” for 2013.
