February 8, 2012 - Atlanta, GA --- The State of Georgia held its Fourth Annual Georgia Logistics Summit on February 8, hosted by the Center of Innovation for Logistics. The Dalton-Whitfield County Joint Development Authority sponsored the event in Atlanta and had a booth showcasing the Greater Dalton logistical advantages to attendees of the Summit.

The Summit is the only state-led collaborative event of its kind and size in the Nation, and grows in attendance every year, hosting 1,300 attendees from 21 states in 2011. Most importantly, 85% of the participants come from the private sector. Held in conjunction with the MODEX 2012 trade show, the Summit provided valuable business information and networking opportunities like no other event.

Governor Nathan Deal provided the keynote address in the morning discussing the need to deepen the Savannah port. Other speakers addressed various topics including the health of the industry, international maritime trade, and emerging world markets.
